Bofore the War unbaptised Jews were appointed as full professor only in exceptional cases. After the War this ban was lifted. It is true that the percentage of Jewish Universities rofessors or of professors of Jewish origin was higher than the percetagte of the Jewish population, but only if one icludes all the fectures and private tutors. Even then 10 per cent. It is ridiculous to spead of predominance.

In any case, the appointments of Jewish professors were made purly on scientific attainment, and of the 4 Germans to whom the Nobel prize has been awarded no fewer than eight are of Jewish origin: namely, Ehrlich, Frank, Haber, Einstein, Wallach, Meyerhof, Warburg. Willstaetter.
