Anti-Defamation League officials met with Pope John Paul II on Last Friday. ADL National Director Abraham Foxman, who like the pope was born in Poland, said he owes his life to Catholics who saved him from the Nazis. Foxman’s Catholic nanny changed his name, falsified his documents and baptized him, with the collusion of a Polish priest.
