A committee was formed here yesterday for the purpose of obtaining the incorporation into the Republican platform of an anti-Klan plank. The Committee was formed at the initiative of the American Jewish Congress and consists of Samuel Koenig, Chairman of the Republican Committee of New York County Asst. United States Attorney Stone of Boston, Louis Topkis of Wilmington, S. Rocker, and Rabbis A. H. Silver and S. Goldman of Cleveland, Nathan Kaplan and J. Liebner of Chicago, Jacob Ginsburg, publisher of the Philadelphia Jewish World and Dr. Stephen S. Wise.

It is reported in convention circles that a resolution signed by a number of prominent persons throughout the country will be presented today to the Resolutions Committee of the Republican Convention, reading as follows:

“This party pledges itself and candidates to stand inflexibly for government by due process of law and against all groups, open or secret, which attempt to take the law into their own hands. If its candidates are elected this party gives assurance that no acts of theirs will render aid or comfort to any organization based on prejudice or discrimination against any citizen for reasons of race, color or creed.”

A similar resolution will be presented to the Democratic Convention in New York, according to the reports.
