The Non-Sectarian Anti-Nazi League, of which Samuel Untermyer is president, issued an announcement today threatening a boycott of the New York Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra unless its new musical director, Wilhelm Furtwaengler, renounces his allegiance to the Hitler Government.

Meanwhile, the Jewish Labor Committee sent a letter to the musicians over the signature of B.C. Vladeck, chairman, and other officers asking members of the orchestra not to “permit music, which expresses the finest and most noble in human character, to increase the prestige of a government whose existence is an insult to humanity, morality and beauty.”
