Military and economic treaties aimed at Israel are now being discussed among Syria, Iraq and other Arab countries, it was reported today from Bagdad in a broadcast over the Near East Radio.

The broadcast added that the entire international situation is also being reviewed. “Iraqi diplomats expect fruitful results from the discussion,” the broadcast said.

A United Nations jeep travelling from Beersheba to El Euja was ambushed by Arabs last night. An Israel cook serving the members of the U.N. armistice commission was seriously wounded. An Israel military ambulance which hurried to the scene was also fired upon by the Arabs, who fled into Egyptian territory. A complaint has been lodged with the mixed armistice commission.
