The United States is “ready to understand the Arab case” now and this is a “golden opportunity” to establish the best of Arab-American relations, Dr. Charles Malik, Lebanese Ambassador to Washington and head of the Lebanese delegation to the United Nations, today told an official dinner for members of the diplomatic corps in Beirut, according to a report received here from the Lebanese capital.

Dr. Malik also said that Israel needs peace today, “but I do not believe that the time has yet come for a discussion of peace with Israel.”
