At a closed session today the United Nations Special Committee on Palestine questioned representatives of six Arab states on testimony given yesterday at a public hearing, during which war was threatened if a Jewish state was established in Palestine.
It is reported that the Arabs adopted a more moderate position today because of the possibility that King Abdullah of Transjordan may support partition, splitting the ranks of the seven members of the Arab League.
