Ariel Sharon called on Israeli settlers in the Gaza Strip to leave voluntarily and collect compensation. “Whoever wants to can come forward, and we will evacuate them,” the Israeli prime minister told the Knesset’s Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee on Monday, referring to his plan to remove all settlements from Gaza and four from the West Bank in 2005.
