Ariel Sharon said Israel could accept a future Palestinian state. Israel and the Palestinians “will reach a solution in which there will be a Palestinian state, but it has to be a Palestinian state by agreement and it has to be a demilitarized Palestinian state,” the Israeli prime minister said Thursday. Speaking to reporters hours before his departure for the United States, Sharon also said the United States would give Israel advance warning if it decides to strike against Iraq.
