Premier Koloman Daranyi’s cabinet resigned tonight. Regent Admiral Nicolas Horthy immediately assigned Dr. Bela Imredy, president of the Hungarian National Bank and retiring Minister Without Portfolio, to form a new Government. He succeeded tonight in forming a Government.

Inability of Daranyi to cope with a rash of posters attacking the Jewish descent of Regent Horthy’s wife was reliably reported to have player an important part in the downfall of the cabinet.

The Regent has for some time been greatly irritated over signs reading, “Rebecca, Leave the Palace!” which Rightists had been posting on walls and fences throughout the capital, an authoritative source said. Mme. Horthy is the former Magdalene Joszashely, descendent of the Wodianer family, eighteenth-century Jewish banking family of Vienna.
