Bar-Ilan University in Israel plans to erect a $3,000,000 high school center, it was announced today by Dr. Joseph H. Lookstein, acting president of the university. The initial phase of this program, which will cost $1,000,000, is being made possible by a major gift from Max and Phillip Stollman of Detroit.
Dr. Lookstein stressed the critical need for secondary school of education facilities in the State of Israel and Bar-Ilan University’s contribution in helping to resolve this problem. In recognition of the generosity of Max and Philip Stollman, and their respective families, the university will name the center The Stollman High School.
The new high school, which will adjoin the university campus in Ramat Gan, will accommodate a student enrollment of 1,000 and will have dormitory facilities for 800. In addition to the projected 14 classroom buildings, the school will include an administration building, a synagogue for 600 students, a dining hall, an auditorium, a gymnasium and a number of other buildings.
