Bill Would Ban Falsely-labeled Meat from Interstate Commerce

Rep. M. Michael Edelstein (Dem.,N.Y.) today introduced a bill which would make transportation in interstate commerce of meat falsely represented as kosher a Federal offense, punishable by a $5,000 fine, imprisonment up to one year or both. The bill was referred to the House Judiciary Committee.
