After a heated debate, the Board of Deputies of British Jews, British Jewish representative body, decided yesterday by a vote of 105 to 81 against participation in the World Jewish Congress, which will take place in Geneva next August.
Neville Laski, president of the board, read a statement expressing grief at last week’s disorders in Palestine. The statement welcomed measures by the Palestine Government to preserve order and the declaration by J.H. Thomas, Colonial Secretary, in the House of Commons that order would be kept.
