That the report of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency correspondent regarding the inadequacy of feeding and equipment in Jewish sections of the Ukraine was sent from the non-famine area, where the difficulties have now been adjusted through a new arrangement with the American Relief Administration, is the reply of Dr, Boris Bogen, representative of the Joint Distribution Committee in Russia to whom a summary of the correspondent’s complaints were cabled. Dr. Bogen declares the correspondent’s conclusions are “extravagent”, repudiates any suggestion of discrimination on the part of the A.R.A., assering further that following a special arrangement with the Administration 14,000 Jewish children are being fed, in addition to 12,000 portions assigned out of supplementary $25,000 voted by J.D.C. for Jewish children’s feeding.
