One Jew was wounded on Cyprus yesterday when British troops opened fire on interned immigrants, a report received here from the island stated.
The shooting resulted from the detainees’ resentment against British troops who guard them pending their screening and transfer to Israel. The British authorities have refused to permit any man of military age to leave the island, despite the face that the U.N. truce has expired.
