The change in the Government is not expected here to affect the prospects for passage of the Daranyi anti-Jewish bill, which on Friday was adopted by the Lower House, although it is possible that some modifying amendments may be introduced when the measure comes before the Upper House on Thursday.
Premier Bela Imredy, who formed the new Government shortly after resignation of the Daranyi Cabinet, failed to make any direct references to the Jewish problem either in his declaration to the Government party yesterday or in today’s speech. The Government change is expected, however, to result in consolidation of the position and stronger measures against the Nazis, which are bound to improve the Jewish outlook.
