A total of fifty-nine prizes, medals, scholarships and honors, will be awarded at the eighty-eighth annual commencement exercises of City College in the Lewisohn Stadium tomorrow evening, according to an announcement by President Frederick B. Robinson.
More than 2,000 men and women graduates of the Schools of Liberal Arts and Science, Education, Technology and Business and Civic Administration and several divisions of the College will receive degrees, diplomas and commissions.
Last night the Gamma chapter of Phi Betta Kappa held its last meeting of the year in the Town Hall Club. Samuel J. Woolf, 99, painter and correspondent, delivered the main address. Dr. Herman Feldman of the class of 1915, Professor of Industrial Relations in the Amos Tuck School of Administration and Finance at Dartmouth College and author of books on industrial subjects, was admitted to honorary membership.
SENIOR CLASS NIGHT
The senior class held its class night celebration in the School of Business last night. Tonight the candidates for graduation will gather on the main campus for an open-air dance and “Numeral Lights” exercises.
Included among the recipients of degrees is Clara Salinger, who will receive the Bachelor of Business Administration degree magna cum laude, the first woman student to be so honored by City College.
Among the names of the prizewinners are: The Ward Medals to students of greatest proficiency for specialization in their major subjects: Walter Ke#sler, Harold E. Weisberg, Ely Mencher, Sidney Hyman, Harold Levine and Samuel Prilutsky.
