Canada’s prime minister admitted that his country did not do enough to save Jewish refugees during the Holocaust. “Yes, errors were made in 1940,” Jean Chretien said during a ceremony at Jerusalem’s Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial. Canada’s policy toward Jewish immigration during World War II was summed up at the time by one Canadian official, who said, “None is too many.”
