David Horowitz, governor of the new Central Bank of Israel, and formerly director general of the Ministry of Finance of Israel, will be one of the principal speakers at the forthcoming Planning Conference for Israel which will take place in Toronto September 18, it was announced here today.
Among the 500 Canadian leaders who will participate in the parley will be Samuel Bronfman of Montreal and Edward E. Gelber of Toronto, national co-chairmen of the State of Israel Bond Drive in Canada; D. Lou Harris, general chairman of the Conference; Rabbi S.M. Zambrowsky, executive president of Mizrachi Organization of Canada; Moisha Dickstein, chairman of the Israel Bond Committee and of the Labor Zionist Movement in Canada; and other leaders of national and provincial organizations. Meanwhile, in a special High Holy Day message addressed to Canadian Jewry, Chief Rabbi Isaac Halevi Herzog of Israel stressed the importance of obtaining Israel Bond subscriptions in the synagogues during the holidays.
