Catholic cardinals and Jewish rabbis meeting in New York blasted anti-Semitism as a “sin” and urged closer interreligious ties. An unprecedented high-level international meeting of 12 bishops, six chief rabbis and assorted scholars in New York on Tuesday echoed Pope John Paul II in calling anti-Semitism “a sin against God and humanity.”
