Chicago Community Leaders Leave for Palestine and Europe to Study Jewish Needs

A group of prominent Jewish leaders, headed by John Balaban, general chairman of the 1947 Chicago Jewish Welfare Fund Campaign, left last night by plane for Palestine and Europe to survey conditions there on behalf of Chicago Jewry in order to provide the community here with first hand information on overseas’ needs for relief and rehabilitation.

The delegation will remain in Palestine for more than a week. It will then (##) daily, Czochoslovakia, Poland, Germany and other countries. Of the (##) which the Jewish Welfare Fund will raise here this year, approximately (##) will go to the United Jewish Appeal.
