A cabled grant of $2,000 from Hiram Halle, president of Universal Oil Products Chicago to the Department of Physical Chemistry of the Hebrew University has made possible the continuance of systematic research work into the catalytic transformation of hydrocarbons recently carried out by the brother Professor A. Farkas and Professor L. Farkas.

The brothers Farkas, who are well known for their valuable research work in problems relating to oil production, have lectured both in London and in the United State on their latest investigation in the Jerusalem laboratories in the production of heavy or double weight oil by the use of hydrogen.
