Chief Rabbi of Johannesburg Leaves South Africa to Settle in Israel

Chief Rabbi Louis Rabinowitz of Johannesburg was tendered a farewell dinner here prior to his departure to settle in Israel. Edel Horowitz, chairman of the Zionist Federation of South Africa, paid tribute to the Rabbi for his “readiness to help Zionism at all times, bringing Israel’s call throughout the country and Rhodesia, the Congo and Kenya.” He was also lauded by the Israel United Appeal and the Women’s Zionist Council.
