Christian, Muslim and Jewish leaders called on the United States to relinquish its sole control over rebuilding Iraq. A Chicago summit convened by members of the Reform movement’s Religious Action Center, the National Council of Churches and the Islamic Society of North America said the United States should “engage the cooperation of the international community” in rebuilding post-war Iraq, said Rabbi David Saperstein, director of the Washington-based group.
