The National Department of Religious Affairs of the Canadian Jewish Congress has called upon all Canadian synagogues to reflect, in Sabbath services on January 18, on the heroism and the uncertain fate of Raoul Wallenberg. It urged people of all faiths “to contemplate this man’s heroic actions on behalf of humanity.” Last month he was granted honorary Canadian citizenship, Canada’s first honorary citizen.
