The report that President of the Polish Republic Moscicki granted executive clemency to Hirsch Frenkel, assistant rabbi of Tarnopol who was sentenced to imprisonment for refusing to obey his army superior’s order to shave off his beard and earlocks, was denied. The report was premature, it was declared. Frenkel is still an inmate in the Lemberg prison.
