Col. J.R. Elyachar was elected today president of the American Technion Society which supports the Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa. Col. Elyacher succeeds J.W. Wunsch, head of the Society during the past three years.
A native Palestinian, Col. Elyachar is a veteran of World War II, having served with the U.S. Corps of Engineers in the European Theatre as commanding officer of Military Intalligence and Counter Sabotage units. He is the recipient of numerous military and civilian decorations, including the Legion of Merit and the French Government’s Legion of Honor.
