Emir Abdullah, according to the same reports, confirmed that the agreement had been reached and stated that he is ready to carry it through because he is convinced that great economic benefits will accrue to the entire country.

The pressure of the Palestine Government must first be overcome, before the lease can be carried through, Emir Abdullah allegedly stated. The fate of the entire matter thus appears to be in the hands of the High Commissioner.
