Columbia University Announces Scholarships for Yiddish

Columbia University today announced that applications for scholarships for the study of the Yiddish language and literature in the 1953-54 academic year will be accepted until February 20. Three scholarships of $600 each, known as the Atran Scholarships, will be awarded. Each scholarship covers the bulk of a year’s tuition fees at Columbia.
