A concert in which foremost stars of the concert and operatic stage will participate will be held Tuesday, March 27, at Carnegie Hall as a farewell tribute to Professor and Mrs. Albert Einstein, on the eve of their departure for Europe. The proceeds of the concert, which will be presented by the Council of Jewish Organizations on Palestine, will be used to settle German Jewish refugee children in Palestine.
Leopold Godowsky, world-famous pianist, will act as chairman of the Program Committee. More than 700 Jewish communal and fraternal organizations affiliated with the Council have already signified their support of the concert and widespread interest has been elicited by all sections of New York Jewry.
An outstanding feature of this event will be a farewell address to America by Einstein, who, deeply concerned over the plight of German Jewish refugees, expressed satisfaction at the fact that a nation-wide effort is under way to settle large numbers of them in Palestine.
