National Commander Malcolm A. Tarlov of the Jewish War Veterans of the USA today asked the Catholic War Veterans for support of the new status of Jerusalem and the holy shrines of all faiths.
Mr. Tarlov, who just returned from Israel, addressed the CWV convention here. He pointed out that Christian shrines will be more available to pilgrims and tourists because of the unified identification of Jerusalem. He reported that negotiations were progressing between Israel and the Vatican on the holy shrines.
Mr. Tarlov said that Israel was in a better position to protect the Christian shrines than pro-Communist Arab governments or the “raging, pro-Communist Arab mobs of Jordan.”
