Within a few minutes after the Hinkis’ judgment had been delivered by the Court of Appeal, the same judges upheld the two years’ sentence on Sheik Taleb Marka for incitement that led up to the massacre in Hebron. In rejecting Marka’s appeal, the court ridiculed the defence’s plea that he was justified in urging the Hebron Arabs to go to Jerusalem to protect fellow Arabs threatened by the Jews.

Because of denial of his appeal, Marka will begin serving his two-year sentence today. Hitherto he had been detained in the prison hospital.
