The crew of the British destroyer Grenade was reported today to be laying a boom across the entrance of Haifa harbor to guard against submarine attack. Meanwhile, civilian defense measures were being organized. A special committee headed by Lady Trusted circularized English women, including Jewesses, to volunteer their services in the event of war.
