Government expenditures in fighting current disorders produced the first treasury deficit in many years, it was disclosed when the May balance sheet was made public today. The approximate $250,000 deficit was accounted for by a $50,000 increase in expenditures for police and prisons and about $200,000 increase in the defense allocation.
