The camp committees in UNRRA camps for displaced Jews in southern Italy went on strike last night to protest the failure to increase food supplies, which they charge have been steadily growing worse.

Jews employed in the camps by UNRRA have also gone on strike for wage increases. As a result of the unrest in the DP centers, an UNRRA welfare officer named Bloeser was beaten up.

UNRRA headquarters is to meet with the representatives of the Joint Distribution Committee and other Jewish voluntary agencies in an attempt to find ways of redressing the grievances.
