Displaced Jews in Munich March to British Consulate to Protest Gruner Execution

Some 1,000 displaced Jews today demonstrated in ## of the British consulate here in protest against the hanging or Dov Gruner three other Palestine Jews yesterday.

The demonstration was orderly but the marchers shouted slogans, song Hatikvah carried placards reading: “Gruner’s blood will be avenged,” The demonstrators ##itted a petition to the consul condemning the executions, demanding the opening the gates of Palestine and praising President Truman and the American Government. official promised that the petition would be forwarded to London. Latter, the ## marched to an Allied peace monument in the city where they held another meeting ##an hour. Although no military permit had been issued for the meetings, American ##tary police cooperated and blocked off the streets through which the Jews ##ched. No other demonstrations were reported in the American zone.

The Central Jewish Committee disassociated itself from the demonstration. ##pokesman said that the marchers were mainly Revisionists and that the Committee ##ld attempt to discourage similar demonstrations in other areas. The Committee ## the Bavarian Office for the Victims of Political and Religious Persecutions have ##led a mass meeting for tonight to commemorate the Warsaw Ghetto uprising.
