Dr. Jorge Garcia Granados, one of the staunchest supporters of Israel’s cause during the battle over partition in the United Nations in 1948, died suddenly of a heart attack at the age of 59. He was on an official mission for his government in Santiago, Chile. He had been Guatemalan delegate to the United Nations during Palestine partition debate.
