Dr. Sidney E. Goldstein, rabbi emeritus of the Stephen Wise Free Synagogue and nationally known marriage and family counselor, died here yesterday, He was 76.
A native of Marshall, Texas, he was ordained a rabbi at Hebrew Union College and was granted a degree of Doctor of Divinity at the Jewish Institute of Religion in 1945. He was chairman of the Jewish Institute on Marriage and the Family and the New York Conference on Marriage and the Family. He was also the author of a number of works dealing with marriage and family problems, as well as with counseling in this field.
