Jewish Agency Treasurer Leon Dulzin claimed Friday that abolition of the Ministry of Absorption could save the government up to $5 million a year. According to Dulzin, the Ministry is superfluous because it duplicates activities of the Jewish Agency. “If cut-backs and savings are in the air, the existence of the Ministry of Absorption should be investigated,” he told an audience at the Engineers Club here. Dulzin said Israel could absorb between 20-30,000 immigrants next year though it would require some “belt-tightening.”
