A spokesman for the Ministry of the Interior last night denied in Parliament that Jews were involved in smuggling arms from Egypt to Palestine.
He declared that the police had not reported a single case of arms smuggling in which Jews were involved. The question was raised by a deputy who charged that Jewish contractors who had purchased scrap iron from British Army depots in Egypt were hiding the weapons in the trucks used to transport the scrap.
