Prime Minister Sir Winston Churchill’s remarks in Commons Monday that Britain was duty-bound to make certain that Israel was treated fairly in the Middle East and his pledge that Israel would not be placed at a disadvantage by British aircraft shipments to the region, were today the subject of an attack by Egyptian Premier Gen. Mohamed Naguib, it was reported in a dispatch from Cairo.
Gen. Naguib charged that Sir Winstons remarks constituted a “threat to Egypt and the Arab world” and added that “I believe Sir Winston’s wishes concerning. Israel are neither earnest nor sincere.” He charged that the British Prime Minister. “Stunned” by the Arab world’s support of Egypt’s stand at the negotiations for British evacuation of the Suez Canal area, immediately reacted “by praying for the Zionists.” Premier Naguib also accused Sir Winston of attempting to diver “over-whelming Arab hared for imperialism to Israel.”
