Rep. Francis E. Walter, co-author of the McCarran-Walter Immigration Act, said today that now that President Eisenhower has signed an immigration law revision bill, all “legitimate basis for complaint” about U.S. immigration policy has been removed.
In Newport, Rhode Island, President Eisenhower today signed the immigration revision bill, but termed it “a disappointment” and urged Congress to make further reaching changes next year.
