Eisenhower Will Not Abandon Israel, Jewish Parley Assured

The assurance that the United States “will not sell Israel down the river” was given here yesterday by Gov. Theodore R. Mckeldin of Maryland, addressing a conference of Israel Bond drive leaders. He emphasized that he conferred with President Eisenhower on the Soviet campaign against Israel and hinted that the President will take “appropriate action” of his own “at the proper time.”
