The American Jewish Congress called today for New York State legislation that would grant Sabbath observers an exemption from the Sunday-closing law. Ascher Katz, president of the Brooklyn division of the A. J. C. presented the organization’s state legislative proposals at a public hearing of the Republican State Advisory Committee here.
