The organization of a society to promote technical training among Jewish young men in Palestine was undertaken with the incorporation in New York of an American Technical Society for Palestine. Lawrence N. Levine, civil engineer, is president and Michael Shapiro, placement manager of the Baron de Hirsch Trade School, is secretary.
The society plans to achieve its purpose by granting subsidies to schools for technical training in the fields of metallurgy, electricity and plumbing, conducted on American standards. The establishment of a trade school in Palestine is also contemplated. Jewish civil engineers and technicians are being recruited for members.
