Despite the drive against aliens now under way here, the French government will shortly announce the granting of 6,000 work permits for German Jewish refugees living in Paris, it was learned today.

Jewish organizations have been conducting negotiations with the French government, which are said to be proceeding smoothly. French officials have expressed sympathy for the refugees who were ordered to leave France but have absolutely no place to go. Granting of the work certificates will, it is hoped, lead to gradual and planned emigration of the refugees, instead of a disastrous flight.

An anti-alien drive of the greatest magnitude has been going on in France. Whole sections of Paris have been roped off and systematically combed by heavy police detachments for aliens.

Gurska became insane as result of her tragic experience.

Another woman, also a German Jewish refugee who was ordered to leave the country, drowned herself.
