Jewish sports organizations here are active in their preparations for the Maccabiad in Palestine. The three biggest Franco-Jewish youths’ organizations, the Union of Israelite Youth, the Scolary Union and the French Maccabi, have formed a joint committee for the purpose of selecting a strong team to send to Palestine.
The first public display of a united Jewish sports festival will take place next Sunday in the presence of Lord Melchett.
Preceding the sports day, a conference will be held to decide the role which the Maccabi will play in France’s fight against anti-Semitism. M. Henri-Pate, vice-president of the French Parliament, will take part in the conference.
