The Institute of France, the highest body of learning in this country, has elected Dr. Yigael Yadin, professor of archaeology at the Hebrew University, as a corresponding member. This is the first time that an Israeli has been granted this much-coveted honor.

The Institute elected Dr. Yadin as a tribute to his “work in the field of archaeology and as a sign of admiration for the State of Israel.”
