In an effort to check Ku Klux Klan activities, the George House of Representatives passed a bill outlawing the hood and mask of the Ku Klux Klan and banning the burning of crosses on private property without the owner’s consent. The bill, which was passed by a vote of 149-1, now goes to the Senate.
