The Japanese occupation authorities were urged today by the German press to officially introduce anti-Jewish measures in the Japanese-occupied colonies in Dutch East Indies, the German news agency Transocean reported from Berlin.
The Nazi agency quoted the Koelnische Zeitung, one of the leading daily newspapers in the Reich, as stating that Jews still possess interests in rubber and sugar plantation in the Japanese-held Dutch East Indies, and “recommending” that sweeping legislation be issued by Japan “to make Jewish activities in oil, rubber and sugar impossible in occupied territories.”
